When we arrived, the trees in the valley were at their peak fall colors, daytime temperatures were in the 70s and frost had yet to make its seasonal debut: unusual for the second week of October in the Canadian province of New Brunswick ... We had arrived for a week of salmon fishing and woodcock and grouse hunting at Wilson’s Sporting Camps on the Miramichi River in the village of McNamee.
