Steelhead Diary: Gallantry John Alevras Painting by Robert Brown This morning I landed a nice brook trout of about 10 pounds that came to the Life Vest dry fly in the lower end of a run called American, then watched a greedy eagle fall into the river by refusing to release its grip on a large salmon. Two normally exciting events, but they and all other experiences of the day were overshadowed by an epic struggle with a very gallant fish.
