Steelhead Diary: Gallantry
John Alevras
Painting by Robert Brown
This morning I landed a nice brook trout of about 10 pounds that came to
the Life Vest dry fly in the lower end of a run called American, then
watched a greedy eagle fall into the river by refusing to release its grip
on a large salmon. Two normally exciting events, but they and all
other experiences of the day were overshadowed by an epic struggle
with a very gallant fish.
